When I was in junior high school in Jacksonville Florida, I was a good student and worked after school and weekends mowing neighborhood lawns to earn money to support my dream. My dream at that time was to play guitar and sing, to be like John Denver. Those that knew me during those years can verify this. I took guitar lessons, entered talent shows, and played for hours and hours in the bedroom of our home on Trinidad Road. I wrote songs, sharing them with friends, we sang in my backyard, in garages and basements. I wanted to make it big as a singer and songwriter.
The truth, my guitar playing was probably a 5 on a 10 scale and my singing, well a 5 would be way too generous. By the time I hit high school, my singing and guitar playing took a back seat to the pull of dating, more difficult studies in school, and work.
Looking back on those days I think I was just trying to find my voice as many of us still are.
Since March 15th, 2017, I’ve been on a journey that has caused the search for my voice to resurface. Some of you reading this may have been watching the Extreme Accountability Challenge on Facebook as I have been joined by friends old and new as we have ventured publicly to lose weight.
This website www.postmypath.com, came from that journey on Facebook. On it I will share my, and hopefully many others journey through pathways of weight loss and struggles that have been overcome and possibly some even overlooked.
My desire is to offer you hope, that regardless of your present circumstances and no matter how dire your situation looks, there is a path that will become clearer as you step forward, a path that you didn’t even know existed. Like the voice that I was looking for as a teenager, I hope that you find the voice to the path of whatever you are looking for here as I post my path.
I encourage you to press post and then press forward, the path that you seek is before you.
Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there!
